Alan
Cassel, Ph.D.
|
During the last ten years,
Alan has worked in advanced technologies such as carbon nanomaterials
synthesis and applications, molecular electronics, biotechnology, and
combinatorial materials science. After joining the NASA Ames Center For
Nanotechnology in 1998, he was instrumental in establishing and managing
the various experimental nanotechnology projects at the Center. In addition,
he has advised two nanotechnology start-up companies. Alan holds a BS
and PhD in chemistry from the University of South Carolina. From 1998
to 1999 he was a visiting scholar at the Stanford University Chemistry
Department. He has been the recipient of seven research and development
awards, and has authored or co-authored more than 35 peer-reviewed publications.
