Minenko Flaherty

Natasha Minenko Flaherty received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematical and Computational Science from Stanford University. While at Stanford, her studies included algorithm design, logic, operations research, wireless data communications, and astronomy. After Stanford Ms. Flaherty joined Oracle Corporation as a software developer in the Hewlett Packard Products Division. She later joined Oracle’s Asia Products Division, where she developed software for the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean marketplace. Her role in that group evolved to focus on product management and strategy for the Asia Pacific region. Natasha Flaherty began her career in wireless technology at Unwired Planet Inc. as the product marketing manager responsible for Unwired Planet’s microbrowser, scripting languages, and international customers. As Unwired Planet grew to become Phone.com, Inc. and later Openwave Systems Inc., Ms. Flaherty became the senior market manager of Japan and Asia Pacific, where she launched Openwave’s marketing activities with wireless network operators and partners throughout China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil. Ms. Flaherty served in various leadership positions including Vice Chair in the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Forum [now Open Mobile Alliance] driving the de facto worldwide standard for providing Internet communications and advanced telephony services on digital mobile phones, pagers, personal digital assistants, and other wireless terminals. Ms. Flaherty has authored articles about the wireless Internet in several publications, including EE Times. An expert on deploying successful mobile application services and 3G convergence, she has delivered numerous key presentations at various venues including CDMA World Congress, Internet World Asia – Hong Kong, Internet World – China, Internet World – Singapore, Intel Developers Forum – China, Unwired Universe, European Oracle Users Group, and Hewlett Packard Users Group. In addition, Ms. Flaherty has chaired several conferences including WAP Asia – Hong Kong and WAP Asia – Singapore and made television appearances in Singapore. Currently Natasha Flaherty is at Visto Corporation, the leading provider
of wireless messaging solutions to mobile operators for personal and corporate
use. In her role of senior manager, services marketing Ms. Flaherty analyzes
service deployments and works with wireless network operators around the
globe in a pre-sales and post-sales capacity to ensure successful service
launch of Visto’s technology in their mobile network . .
