Entrepreneurship in Asian High-Tech Industries

Allen Miner
Founder and CEO, SunBridge Corporation
 

As the founder and CEO of SunBridge Corporation, Allen Miner aims to create a dynamic, collaborative environment in which Japanese information technology startups develop at a globally competitive pace. The 20,000 square foot SunBridge Venture Habitat has operated in Shibuya, Tokyo since April 2000. SunBridge Corp. provides a variety of growth-enabling services to both startups and global enterprises both within and outside the Venture Habitat. SunBridge services include early stage venture capital investment, software product and internet system co-development, sales and marketing strategy and execution, organizational strategy and recruiting, etc.
After graduating with degrees in both computer science and asian studies from Brigham Young University, Allen's deep knowledge of the Japanese was gained over a ten year assignment to Tokyo as the founder and an executive director of Oracle Japan.
He currently serves on the boards of several SunBridge portfolio companies, as an advisor to government-affiliated organizations focused on innovation and entrepreneurism, and on the boards of NPO ETIC, a Tokyo organization promoting social entrepreneurism and providing entrepreneurial training for university students. He was appointed to the board of directors of the Japan Venture Capital Association upon its founding in November, 2002.
