HIGH TECH ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION IN EAST ASIA: Topics in International Technology Management

Bio: Nadine Grant
Founder/Principal, Managing American Performance

 

Ms. Nadine Kazuko Grant is an international management consultant, interim high-tech Chief Operating Officer (COO) and executive coach. A graduate of UC Berkeley, she draws on more than 30 years of experience as a software/systems engineer and technical manager in Engineering, Manufacturing and International Marketing and Sales at Fortune 500 companies. She has designed and implemented process enhancing systems, and has managed functionally and culturally diverse groups with almost no turnover. She has also directed international customer service and support.

Born and raised in Hawaii, she utilizes her cross-cultural and cross-functional knowledge when doing business domestically and internationally. She founded Managing American Performance (MAP) in 1990, primarily to assist primarily Pacific Rim born managers deal with managing "Americans." She has also coached American, Japanese, Taiwanese and Israeli managers, managing "Americans". She has also done special coaching for professional women. Ms. Grant utilizes her professional and personal experiences to provide management with techniques and insights that bridge cultural and gender gaps. She was one of the subjects in the book "Succeeding in High Tech: A Guide to Building Your Career".

She has been president of the Keizai Society (a US/Japan Business Forum) for almost 5 years and is on the Board of Directors for CityNet, and LO*OP Center, and is a member of the Cupertino Community Cross-Cultural Committee and Midori Kai. She has also founded two grassroots organizations and was an invited member to Joint Venture/Silicon Valley.
