Doing Business With Your Technology in Asia

Jodie Fam
Global Marketing Manager, Guidant

Previous to joining Guidant, Jodie has worked for a number of medical device organizations in Australia. For Mallinckrodt, Jodie was the National Sales Manager for the medical Imaging business unit.

She later joined Johnson & Johnson where she drove the Market Development strategy for new technologies, which included successful lobbying government bodies for changes to standards and regulations.
Jodie joined Guidant out of the Singapore affiliate in May 1998, where she was the Clinical and Marketing Manager, Asia. This role was key in charting the Clinical Strategy, which played a part in the overall plan for success in Asia.  On the marketing side, Jodie brought about processes for establishing greater success in creating consistent marketing message across Asia and married the clinical image of Guidant Asia into the marketing messages.

On moving to the US at the beginning of 2000, Jodie was appointed the Global Group Manager for Radiation Therapy. In this role, Jodie crafted the Radiation strategy for international markets. Later she was then appointed the Global Group Manager for Drug Eluting Stents where she drove the strategy the program, including Product Development needs, as well as the overarching messages for Guidant's for Drug Eluting Stents strategy.

Most recently, Jodie has been responsible for Guidant's Customer Intimacy strategy, focusing on Key Opinion Leader strategies.
Jodie received a bachelor of Diploma in Nuclear Medicine from Sydney Technical College in Australia as well as a Bachelor of Health Administration from the University of New South Wales, Australia. In 1996 she was awarded her MBA from University of Technology, Sydney.
