Paul Lippe  

From 1992-1999, Paul Lippe was Senior Vice President, General Counsel of Synopsys, and ran Business Development and Corporate Marketing. During that time Synopsys grew from $63MM to $800MM in revenue and $400MM to $4BB in market cap. Synopsys's Asia business grew from $10MM to roughly $250MM.

At Synopsys, Paul was a leader in cross-border joint ventures, the development of the IP business model, and the systematic protection of trade secrets and the use of non-disclosure agreements. Paul hosted Synopsys' Tokyo reception with U.S. Ambassador Walter Mondale and its China office opening at the Great Hall of the People.

From 1988-1992, Paul was Vice President, Corporate Development & General Counsel of Solbourne Computer. Solbourne was a joint venture company with Matsushita (Panasonic). Paul worked on U.S.-Japan financing, technology transfer and distribution opportunities. In 2000, Paul became CEO of Stanford SKOLAR, a digital library and e-learning company sponsored by Stanford. SKOLAR has been sold to Wolters Kluwer.

Paul is a graduate of Yale College and Harvard Law School.
