Jimmy Wei,
Ph.D.

Dr. Wei is currently vice president at WI Harper, an US based VC firm with strong focus in Greater China region. He oversees WI Harper's global investments in life sciences and digital media sectors. Before joining WI Harper, he worked for the McKinsey Shanghai office, assisting some of the largest multinational and Chinese companies in the areas of telecommunication, high tech and health care.
Dr. Wei has worked with leading life
science research institutions such as the Department of Medicine in Duke
Medical Center, where he was a research fellow focusing on the molecular
mechanism study of human genetic diseases. He also conducted research in
the National Lab of Plant Molecular Genetics at Chinese Academia of
Science.
Dr. Wei holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from
North Carolina State University and an MBA from Darden Business School,
University of Virginia.
