Hiroshi Ichikawa, Senior Manager, NPW Promotion Department

  Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering Division
       Nissan Motor Co., Ltd

Hiroshi Ichikawa first joined Nissan in 1982 as an industrial engineer and manager of Kaizen-Juku (improvement training team).  In 1993 Nissan transferred Mr. Ichikawa to the UK manufacturing plant where he facilitated genba-kanri, kaizenn, JIT (just in time), QC (quality control), and TPM (total production management.  In 1997, Mr. Ichikawa was brought to the Nissan headquarters Production Way Promotion Office where he invented the synchronized production method.  He was integral in the development of the Renault Production Way where he facilitated NPW.  Currently Mr. Ichikawa facilitates the NPW globally at Nissan Headquarters where he also oversees the Nissan Global Training Center.
