Jun'ichi Sone graduated with a Master's degree in Physics from the University of Tokyo
in 1975 and was awarded a Doctorate of Science from Tokyo University in 1983.
He joined NEC as a research member of the Central Research Laboratories in 1975.
He had been engaged in the development of GaAs devices, Josephson junction integrated circuits,
and Quantum devices. He is now in charge of the development of Nanotechnology, Quantum Information
Technology, Bio Information Technology, Environmental Technology, and Mobile Energy Technology
as a General Manager of the Fundamental and Environmental Research Laboratories of NEC Corporation.
Dr. Sone is a member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics, Japan Human Proteome Organization,
and the American Physical Society.
