Based in Silicon Valley, but spending a significant portion of his time in
China, Erik Klee is a Principal with ChampionScott Partners. Erik has over 25 years of
experience working with technology companies to raise funding, enter the
China market and build management teams in Silicon Valley and China. Erik
has deep expertise in Greater China business practices, having lived and
worked in Mainland China for 15 years, Taiwan for 2 years, and Hong Kong for
1 year.
Prior to joining ChampionScott Partners, Erik was a founding partner of
Commence Technology Partners where he assisted U.S. technology companies
entering the China market with business development, partnership creation,
and fund raising. Previously, he was a member of Glisson Capital, where he
executed the international acquisition of Polyhedra (U.K.), by Enea Data
Systems (Sweden), and successfully funded and provided strategic
partnerships for a number of venture backed start-Ups, including YesVideo,
PowerFile, MedioStream, Stryon, and Display Research Laboratories.
Before returning to Silicon Valley, Erik served as China Country Manager for
European trade-finance companies. During this time, he directed and
successfully concluded over US$ 850 million in physical trades, debt
restructuring, and China State infrastructure projects. Earlier, as Project
Manager for Unison International he worked with the Presidents of the
Chinese Joint-Ventures of AMC, FMC, Allied Signal, and Lockheed. Joint
Venture clients included Beijing Jeep J/V, Norinco NFV-1 Fighting Vehicle,
and the Lockheed PRC 105 Aircraft.
Prior to living in Taiwan and China, Erik was National Sales Manager for
Rand Vertical Systems Inc. in Silicon Valley. Erik began his career as an
account manager with Xerox Corporation.Erik holds Bachelor's and Master's of
Science degrees from San Jose State
University. He is an active angel investor and a member of Garage
Technology Ventures, Cal-Asia, Asia-Silicon Valley Connection and Asian
American Multitechnology Association. Erik is fluent in Mandarin Chinese
and French.
