James Hollenhorst
Senior Director, Intellectual Property Strategy, Agilent Laboratories

Jim Hollenhorst serves as Senior Director of Intellectual Property Strategy for Agilent Laboratories. Formerly, he was Vice President and Director of the Molecular Technology Lab and Director of R&D and Technology Management for Agilent's Life Science and Chemical Analysis group. He also recently served as Director of Electronics Research for Agilent Labs. He has led Agilent's research in life science, chemical analysis, nanotechnology, electronics, and MEMS technologies. He joined Hewlett-Packard Laboratories in 1990 initially leading research in superconductivity and solid-state technologies. Before joining HP in 1990, he was with Bell Laboratories, where he worked on high-speed electronics and optoelectronics. He serves on several academic and industrial advisory boards, is a former Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, a former member of the Governing Board of the American Institute of Physics, and a Fellow of the IEEE. He received a Ph.D. in physics from Stanford University and a B.S. in physics from the University of Minnesota.
