Seminars will take place on Tuesdays from March 30th – May 25th.  These sessions are open to the public and registration is required to receive the Zoom login details.

All seminars will be held online via Zoom, 4:30 PM – 5:50 PM, with informal networking following until about 6:30 PM (PST).  REGISTER below for the entire series*.

Speakers

Mr. Shih-Hung Chen

Co-founder and CEO of Guliwang Inc.

 

Shih-Hung is a serial entrepreneur and the current Co-founder and CEO of Guliwang Inc., an online platform providing corporate gifts, food products, and employee benefits to Chinese corporate customers, including SOEs, banks, and professional services.  He also supports the MIT Sloan School of Management’s China Lab, where he sources and manages company relationships for the China Lab Class.

Previously, he also served as the China Representative for the US Cooperative for International Patient Programs (USCIPP), an industry association of the top academic medical centers in the US, and a secondary role in developing US-Sino clinical collaborations.  Shih-Hung has many years of operations and strategy experience and was VP of Strategy and Business Development for Staples China.

As a US citizen growing up in Seattle, Shih-Hung has an unusual career in that he is culturally American but professionally, mainland Chinese.  His initial experience was as part of the leadership team of a Shanghainese office products company that became Staples China, and later as co-founder or advisor in Chinese startups.  He also served as a translator for Chinese officials during Sino-US dialogues and talks at the Harvard Kennedy School in 2011.

Shih-Hung has been invited as a guest lecturer to Stanford, MIT, Fudan, and the Shanghai Municipal Party School. He is a current Board Director of Shanghai Putuo District COFA, Board Director of Shanghai Putuo District Tiandi Software Park New Social Stratum Association.

Shih-Hung holds a BA in history from Stanford University and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
