Dr. Shirley Chen is founder and CEO of Winvivo Corp, a Silicon Valley green healthcare platform
specialized in the development of unique natural products that provide long-term sustainable, effective
solutions to chronic health problems that cost America 70+% of the healthcare expenditures. By mining
the knowledge base of the thousand-year history of human consumption of botanicals for preventing and
treating disease in Asia, Winvivo has rapidly developed and marketed unique high performance products
as natural remedies for systemic ailments related to abnormal immunity, infection, and allergy, as well
as chronic non-healing skin ulcers, wounds, and dermatological disorders (eczema, acne and contact
dermatitis).
Dr. Chen brings 12 years of experiences in global health product development and market
expansion in the US, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, pharmaceutical and biotechnology
intellectual property (IP) protection and brand management. This combined technical, legal and
business expertise is built on her 10+ years of academic research into cancer biology, virology,
molecular biology and biological chemistry.
Prior to her entrepreneurship Dr. Chen was a senior IP counsel at Wilson Sonsini
Goodrich & Rosati. She has also been a principal investigator in cancer biology
research and drug development at SRI International, and carried out postdoctoral
research of viruses in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Dr. Harold E. Varmus at UCSF
and at UC Berkeley. She is a member of the State Bar of California, and holds a JD
from Santa Clara University and a PhD in biological chemistry from SUNY Stony Brook.
Dr. Chen was born in China to two botanist parents in a remote mountain area of South West
China and graduated from Peking University with a BS in Applied Chemistry. She loves Asian
cooking and organic gardening, growing flowers, fruits and vegetables at her Silicon Valley
home.
