Mr. HoChan Lee, Managing Director of KTB Ventures
Mr. David Lee, Co-Founding Partner of XG Ventures

Panelists HoChan Lee, Managing Director of KTB Ventures, and David Lee, Co-Founding Partner of XG Ventures (a Google Alumni Angel Fund), discuss current trends and outlooks for new company creation and growth in South Korea.

For KTB Ventures, a US venture investment entity of KTB Korea with over $2 billion under management, HoChan focuses on investments in the areas of information technology, digital media, entertainment and consumer service. He has led more than 15 investments in the United States, and he has actively participated in cross-border business development efforts between Korean companies and portfolio companies such as Beceem, Inphi, Meebo, and Stoke. Prior to KTB ventures, HoChan was a Management Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, engaging in business and strategy development projects for major Korean companies. He also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consulting Service, participating in financial advisory and M&A deals of high-tech companies.

David was one of the first 200 employees at Google, and he was the first executive to lead Google overseas. He launched Google’s offices in Korea, Japan, Greater China, Australia, UK, Germany, and Latin America. Currently a Venture Partner at SK Telecom Ventures, a corporate VC firm, David also co-founded the angels fund XG Ventures, which has had over 11 acquisitions in the last year to Facebook, Twitter, Google, AT&T, and Disney. Some of David’s past and current investments include Tapulous, Posterous, Twitter, Facebook, Kabam, Greplin, and others. He is an LP in Y Combinator and SV Angels Fund, sits on several boards, and cofounded one of the first start-up incubators in Korea, KStartup/SeoulSpace.
