Join us for an in depth conversation with Eric Kim, Managing Partner at Goodwater Capital, about Goodwater’s approach to global investing and the role they have played in Korea’s startup ecosystem. Eric will talk about how Goodwater’s role as an important bridge for global startups including the startups from Korea that they have chosen to fund like, Kakao, Coupang, Toss and Daangn Market. Finally, he’ll discuss how though his team often brings global best practices to their portfolio companies from Silicon Valley, they often find they are learning quite a bit of innovation from startups in countries like Korea, which they are then able to bring to the rest of the world.

Seminars will take place on Tuesdays from March 30th – May 25th. These sessions are open to the public and registration is required to receive the Zoom login details.
All seminars will be held online via Zoom, 4:30 PM – 5:50 PM, with informal networking following until about 6:30 PM (PST).

Mr. Eric Kim
Managing Partner, Goodwater Capital
Eric is a Managing Partner at Goodwater Capital, a consumer technology focused venture capital firm he co-founded in 2014. Eric previously held positions as a Managing Director with Maverick Capital, founding executive of two technology companies, and consultant with McKinsey & Company. Eric has led early and growth stage investments into leading consumer and mobile technology companies such as Kakao (IPO – KOSDAQ:035720),Musical.ly, Zenefits, Coupang and Upsight. Eric currently serves on the Board of Directors of Memebox, Frank & Oak, Viva Republica, Pager, and Retrica. A classically trained cellist, Eric received his B.A. from Yale University where he was a member of the Grammy-nominated Yale Cellos and continues to serve as a board trustee for the St. Thomas More Chapel & Center at Yale University. Eric also received his M.B.A from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and serves on the advisory board of the Johns Hopkins Alliance for Science and Technology.
