Asia Entrepreneurship Update 2022

Join us for the first session in our spring quarter series, Entrepreneurship in Asian High-Tech Industries. Over the course of our public seminar series, we will explore the most recent trends, patterns, and challenges of entrepreneurship in Asia and their relevance to Silicon Valley and the U.S. Guest speakers include entrepreneurs, investors and mentors, and other experts on the current entrepreneurial ecosystems of major Asia economies. In the first session, Dr. Richard Dasher will provide an overview of the current entrepreneurial landscape in Asia.

Seminars will take place on Tuesdays from March 29th – May 31st. These sessions are open to the public and registration is required to receive the Zoom login details.
All seminars will be held online via Zoom, 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM, with informal networking following until about 7:30 PM (PST).

Speakers
Dr. Richard Dasher
Director, US-Asia Technology Management Center, Stanford University
Dr. Richard Dasher has directed the US-Asia Technology Management Center since 1994 and is Adjunct Professor of East Asia Languages and Cultures at Stanford University. From 1998 – 2017, he served concurrently as Executive Director of the Center for Integrated Systems (now Stanford System X Alliance) and held Consulting Professor appointments in the Department of Electrical Engineering. In 2004, Dr. Dasher became the first non-Japanese person to join the governance of a Japanese national university, serving on the Board of Directors and then on the Management Council of Tohoku University until 2011. Other service (selected) includes the Program Committee of the World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI) of MEXT since its founding in 2007, and advisory roles with research institutes, accelerators, and nonprofits in Asia, Canada, and the U.S.
