Guest Moderator Clara YoonJin Chang, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at STAYGE Labs, will host a discussion with Victor Ching, CEO of Miso, and Tony Young-Suc Lyu, Venture Partner at Softbank Ventures Asia.  They’ll go over the latest trends and patterns in entrepreneurship happening in Korea.

Guest Moderator: Clara YoonJin Chan

Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at STAYGE Labs

Clara YoonJin Chang is an advocate for technology startups across the globe.  She is the Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of STAYGE Labs, a KPOP fan community platform that has partnered with Korea’s leading global entertainment company CJ ENM.  STAYGE hit 1 million users in two weeks recently.  Previously Clara was a partner at Kstartup, a leading accelerator in Korea with support from Google, and co-founded LifeSite, a secure online digital vault.  She has served as an advisor or angel investor in over 40 Korean startups, and as a venture partner at Cherubic Ventures. Prior to joining the startup scene, Clara was titled as Miss Korea and subsequently hosted her own TV show, other TV programs, and big media events for several years. In 2013, she was voted the “Most Promising Female Entrepreneur” in Korea.

Victor Ching

CEO, Miso

Victor Ching is the Founder and CEO of Miso. Miso is a home services marketplace where customers can book over 70 different services. Services include cleaning, moving, repair, interior remodeling and more. They have raised over $11 million in funding and went through Y Combinator in 2016. They have completed over 3 million bookings totaling over $150 million in volume.

 

Tony Young-Suc Lyu

Venture Partner, Softbank Ventures Asia

Tony Young-Suc Lyu is is a Venture Partner with SoftBank Ventures Asia, the global early-stage venture arm of SoftBank Group.  Tony’s relationship with SoftBank Ventures Asia started when his startup Korbit received investment from SoftBank in 2014. Tony was founder and CEO of Korbit, Korea’s first cryptocurrency exchange. He guided the company through its acquisition by NXC Corporation in 2017. Tony also co-founded TIDE Institute, a non-profit organization providing technology entrepreneurship education. Prior to that, he has worked in Germany and in Austria as an Associate Expert at the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, and in Sri Lanka as a vocational school teacher for the Korea International Cooperation Agency.
