Avinish Pandey
Former CEO, ABP Network
Mr. Avinash Pandey is the former CEO of ABP Network, a role he took on in January 2019 after serving the ABP Group since 2005 in various roles. Prior to becoming CEO, he served as the Group’s Chief Operating Officer for over 7 years. He played a key role in the transformation of the channel from Star News to ABP News in 2012, as well as its rebranding and repositioning in 2020. He has over 26 years of experience in the media sector, including time with the Indian Express Group and TV Today Group.
He is the serving President of the News Broadcasters & Digital Association (NBDA). He is also the President of the International Advertising Association (IAA) India Chapter.
A true industry specialist, he is a core member of the Digital News Publishers Association and a former Director of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation. He has been a member of several committees, including the Media & Entertainment Committee of FICCI, Chairmanship of the National Council on Entertainment and Media – ASSOCHAM, Panel Advisory Committee of the Bureau of Outreach & Communication for the release of government advertisements, and the Committee of Experts appointed by the I&B Ministry on ethical standards in media coverage.
An alumnus of Harvard Business School, Mr. Pandey also holds a degree in History and a postgraduate degree in Modern Indian History from Delhi University.
Mr. Avinash Pandey has won numerous awards and accolades, most notably the CEO of the Year Award at ENBA 2022 and the CEO of the Year Award at the National Awards for Excellence 2022. He has been honoured as the Media Person of the Year by the Indian Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA). Among many other honours, he is also a recipient of the Business Leader of the Year – 2018 Award and The News Television CEO of the Year – 2019 Award. Under his leadership, the ABP News Channel won the Most Popular Hindi New Channel Award at the ITA Awards in 2022.
