Mr. Akira Tada, Senior General Manager of Global Business Development and Planning, Softbank Mobile

Mr. Akira Tada is currently Senior General Manager of Global Business Development and Planning at Softbank Mobile.  He is currently focused on developing a global mobile application ecosystem by working with telecom carriers such as Vodafone, Telefonica, KT, SK Telecom, China Mobile, NTT, DOCOMO, AT&T, and Verizon.  With nearly 20 years of experience in the Telecom Industry, Mr. Tada has been lucky to be in the middle of the past two decades of evolution in
communication technology, from voice to data, from dial-up internet to Gigabit internet, from fixed line to mobile, from mainframe to PC then Smartphone, from Yahoo to Google and now from Google to Facebook.

Previously at Softbank, Mr. Tada has been responsible for incubation and value creation as Head of Group Management at Softbank Corp.  His team led a venture investment unit to manage 900+ group companies that includes Alibaba, MySpace and Yahoo.   He also served on the Board of Directors of selected portfolio companies ranging from very early stage to late stage, and supported 3 portfolio companies in their successful IPOs.

Prior to joining Softbank, he had worked for IBM Business Consulting Services in the area of strategy formulation, and he had delivered strategic consulting services to various clients in InfoCom area.
