Technology Startups in India: Looking Back, Looking Forward

Sridhar Jagannathan, Ph.D., Operating Partner & Group CTO, IndusAge Advisors

In our session on Oct. 23rd, Dr. Sridhar Jagannathan will focus his presentation on the state of technology startups in India and their global significance.  Using suitable frameworks and cases, he will discuss the evolutionary trajectory of startups in India, identify parameters for success and failure, and draw perspectives on the future.

Dr. Sridhar Jagannathan is an Operating Partner and Group CTO at IndusAge Global Capital Managers, LLC. Prior to that, he was the Chief Innovation Officer and EVP at Persistent Systems, and the Head of the Persistent Venture Fund for early stage technology startups.  Earlier, Sridhar was VP of Technology Strategy and Partnerships at Intuit, responsible for technology strategy, partnerships and M&A. He was also the Managing Director for Symantec’s India Development Center for consumer products where he created new models of engineering partnerships. Early on in his career, Sridhar was VP of Technology for Softbank Emerging Markets, a $200M fund focused on early stage investments in emerging markets. Sridhar actively mentors entrepreneurs and participates in early stage startups. He was a Technology Advisor to the IFC, the private funding arm of the World Bank. He is the Founder of MOVE India Foundation, a non-profit entity to enable massive, rapid scaling of vocational skills.  Sridhar received his Ph.D. in Engineering from U.C. Berkeley and is a graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
