Women’s Startup Lab: The International Challenge

Ari Horie, Founder & CEO, Women’s Startup Lab

According to Ms. Ari Horie, Founder and CEO of Women’s Startup Lab, the Japanese character “Hito” (人) represents two individuals leaning on each other for support.  Her interpretation of this abstract concept is reflective of the spirit defined by the startup accelerator she launched in Silicon Valley designed specifically for women.

In our next session, Ari will share her experiences on entrepreneurship, the history of this accelerator program launched in 2013 and how it is enabling both men and women across global communities to optimize their skills and way of thinking in order to innovate and collectively develop best business practices.

Ari is a Japanese native and was recently recognized in several publications including CNN’s 10 Visionary Women and 20 Women Who Are Changing the Ratio by Marie Claire magazine.  She has also served as a keynote speaker at UpGlobal and SXSW V2V, with media coverage by Fast Company, SUCCESS Magazine, Silicon Valley Business Journal, the Wall Street Journal and was a guest on Robin Morgan National live radio. The mission of Women’s Startup Lab is to empower female led startups to succeed by being stronger leaders with access to an influential network of advisors. Their goal is to create powerful startups that shape the world through innovation and are focused on inclusion and diversity.

Please join us on Thursday, November 6th for our sixth session of the quarter on “New Trends in Startup Company Acceleration: Toward the Rise of the Global Startup.”

Immediately following the session, we’ll have a short-networking reception from 5:30 – 6:15PM.

This session is presented by the US-Asia Technology Management Center and the Stanford Silicon Valley – New Japan Project, with support also from The Miner Foundation.
