Y Combinator: Making Things People Want
Garry Tan, Partner, Y Combinator
In our final session this quarter, Garry Tan, Partner at Y Combinator, will brief us on the state of affairs at Y Combinator with a focus on its strategic role in the venture ecosystem.
With barriers to launching a startup lower than ever, new pressures have evolved which are influencing startups and their globalization trends. Traction and ideas are critical, and returns are extreme power law distributed.
Garry Tan is a Partner at Y Combinator. Previously, he was Co-Founder at Posterous and also co-founded the financial analysis platform at Palantir Technologies. Earlier in his career, he was a Program Manager at Microsoft for Windows Mobile. He graduated from Stanford University in Computer Systems Engineering in 2003.
Please join us on Thursday, December 4th for our final session of the quarter on “New Trends in Startup Company Acceleration: Toward the Rise of the Global Startup.”
Immediately following the session, we’ll have a short-networking reception from 5:30 – 6:15PM.
This session is presented by the US-Asia Technology Management Center, with support also from The Miner Foundation and the Stanford Silicon Valley – New Japan Project.
