In today’s global landscape, resilient and sustainable supply chains are crucial for the manufacturing industry. Guest speaker Dr. Sudhanshu Gaur, Chief Architect of Industry 4.0 for Astemo, and Vice President of Hitachi America’s R&D Division, will offer global insights into how digital innovation is transforming manufacturing and enhancing both resilience and sustainability in supply chains. Drawing from experiences in the automotive, rolling stock, and energy sectors, we will explore how AI and advanced automation technologies enable agile, responsive, and environmentally sustainable operations.

Our 2024 autumn seminar series on “Topics in International Technology Management | Innovations in Supply Chains and Manufacturing in Asia: Opportunities and Challenges in Realignment” begins September 2024 and continues weekly until December 2024. Speakers
Dr. Sudhanshu Gaur
Chief Architect, Industry 4.0, Astemo and Vice President, R&D Division Hitachi America Ltd.
As Vice President at Hitachi America, Sudhanshu leads the Industrial Edge Computing R&D program, developing innovative solutions across various industry sectors. In tandem, he shapes the Industry 4.0 vision for digital transformation, covering the IT x OT technology stack across Hitachi’s group companies. Sudhanshu’s work integrates emerging technologies such as 5G, Industrial Metaverse, and Generative AI into manufacturing operations, enhancing efficiency and agility.
Sudhanshu earned his PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Virginia Tech and the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, respectively. His industry impact was recognized when he was named among the top 25 leaders by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) in 2020.
Claude Leglise
Chairman and Co-Founder of ClearSpot Holdings, LLC
Claude Leglise is the chairman and co-Founder of ClearSpot Holdings, LLC., a solar electricity services company serving large-scale commercial users of power in California.
Claude also chaired and co-founded the Silicon Valley Asia Innovation Institute, LLC., and the Qingdao Innovation Institute in Qingdao, China. Both institutes coached entrepreneurs in California, China and Japan to create fundable business plans. He has taught innovation management at Stanford University, the China Academy of Sciences, Tokyo University, Paris Tech, the Hong Kong Designers Association and many private companies. He continues to advise start-ups in AI and robotics.
Claude held positions in marketing, general management and venture investment at Intel Corporation where he served on Intel’s executive staff. As Vice President of Intel Capital, he was responsible for making over 150 equity investments, in 25 countries. Claude has served on numerous public and private company boards. including Netlist (Nasdaq: NLST), Camelot Information Systems (NYSE: CIS), SupportSoft (Nasdaq: SPRT).
Claude received a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers, in Paris, France, an MBA from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, and a Chinese Language Certificate from Peking University in Beijing, China.
