A noontime discussion for Stanford students to connect with experienced entrepreneurs who have launched startups in Asia and are able to provide insights from the inside on the challenges of navigating the startup ecosystem in Asia and how it differs from the US.

Panel discussion moderated by Dr. Richard Dasher, Director of the US-Asia Technology Management Center, will include:
Sherman Li, President, Enswers America (U.S. and Korea)
Founded in 2007, Enswers Inc. is an advanced audiovisual search technology company. Headquartered in Seoul, Korea with offices in Tokyo and San Francisco, Enswers is the leading provider of ACR (automatic content recognition) technology and is striving to dominate the “second screen” industry, providing extra contextual information to accompany televised content.  Mr. Li holds a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering from Stanford University and is one of the first ASES alums to start a company in Korea.  Prior to joining Enswers Inc., Mr. Li was formerly the COO of Evixar, Inc. and was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Softbank Korea.

Qiming Huang, Founding Partner, Innovation Angel (China)
Founded in 2012, Innovation Angel is a Silicon-Valley style incubator and accelerator based in Beijing.  It is open to seed-staged startups and founders from all over China and overseas high-tech areas.  Innovation Angel provides funding and training programs to passionate entrepreneurs.  Ms. Huang is also the Chairwoman of the Silicon Valley-China Wireless Technology Association.  She holds an M.S. in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin.

Toshiyuki Yamamoto, Founder and CEO, ChatWork, Inc. (U.S. and Japan)
ChatWork is a cloud-based business chat tool that addresses the communication problem caused by traditional email and chat services. ChatWork replaces inefficient email and chat services with built-in group task management and group file sharing.  As of November 2012, ChatWork had more than 110,000 users, and about 15 percent of them were paid users.  They are currently planning to expand into the Southeast Asian market.
