04:15 pm - 05:30 pm

Principal Researcher
Fundamental and Environmental Research Laboratories
NEC Corporation

Keishi Ohashi graduated with a Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Nagoya University in 1979. He joined NEC as an engineer of peripheral division where he had developed several magnetic devices such as thin film heads and giant magnetoresistive heads for commercial HDDs. After having engaged as a Senior Design Manager of MR Head Division, he moved to the Microelectronics Research Laboratories in 1998 where he transferred several results of basic research. The results include spin-tunneling junction head from the Fundamental Research Laboratories, surface plasmon enhancement from NECI in Princeton, and a high magnetic moment material from Waseda University.
Dr. Ohashi joined the Fundamental and Environmental Research Laboratories in 2001 as a Principal Researcher. His recent research areas are surface plasmons, near-field optics, ceramic films, tera-herz light, and nano-scale plating.
