Keizai SV’s 36th Anniversary Shinnenkai (New Year’s) Reception

This year, Keizai Silicon Valley will honor Kristi Yamaguchi with the Keizai Silicon Valley Distinguished Achievement Award. Ms. Yamaguchi is an Olympic gold medalist, two-time World Champion, and Hall of Famer in figure skating, and the first Asian American woman to win Olympic gold in the sport. Throughout her skating career, Ms. Yamaguchi worked closely with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an experience that inspired her lifelong commitment to supporting families and underserved children. In 1996, she founded Kristi Yamaguchi’s Always Dream Foundation, which promotes early childhood literacy for children in Northern California and Hawaiʻi.

The program will feature a fireside chat with Ms. Yamaguchi, followed by a traditional Kagamibiraki (sake barrel opening) ceremony led by Deputy Consul General of Japan, Takeshi Ishihara.
