Honda’s Culture for Innovation

Speaker: Mr. Saburo Kobayashi, Visiting Professor of Int’l. Business Strategy | Chuo University, Japan

Mr. Kobayashi, a key individual in the development of airbag technologies at Honda Motor Co. in Japan, discusses systemic and cultural factors that have encouraged innovation at Honda.  Over his 34 year career at Honda Motors, Mr. Kobayashi has served as Vice President of Honda R&D Americas, General Manager of the Corporate Planning Division at Honda Motor Co. and was the Executive Chief Engineer of Honda R&D Co. until his retirement in 2005.  Mr. Kobayashi received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Waseda University and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
