Dr. Dasher’s workshops at Reuters NEXT
US-ATMC Director Dr. Richard Dasher lead two workshops during the Reuters NEXT Summit in New York City on December 3-4, 2024.
On day 1 of the summit, he joined Japan External Trade Organization’s Chairman and CEO, Norihiko Ishiguro to discuss “Eye on Japan: building global business portfolio”. As geopolitical risk, the increasing pace of digitalization and sustainability imperatives continue to add uncertainty to the global business environment, many are looking to Asia as a new destination for investment and collaboration. Those who were interested in how innovation is evolving in Japan and what promising business opportunities have grown joined the discussion. From digital to manufacturing, green tech to life sciences, they explored how companies could expand their portfolios globally.
On day 2 Dr. Dasher facilitated an interactive roundtable discussion on “What’s NEXT in AI: the pathway to responsible deployment” (photos below). At the discussion, attendees looked into how companies are ensuring transparency, fairness, privacy, and accountability throughout the lifecycle of AI systems and how they could implement effective bias assessments to ensure fairness and mitigate the risks of delivering skewed outcomes.
