Keizai Silicon Valley’s 35th Shinnenkai

Keizai Silicon Valley held their 35th anniversary Shinnenkai (New Year’s Reception) on January 31, 2025 at the Palo Alto Hills Golf and Country Club. This year they honored Glen S. Fukushima and Sakie Tachibana-Fukushima with the Keizai Silicon Valley Distinguished Achievement Awards. US-ATMC was proud to be one of Keizai Silicon Valley’s co-sponsors for the event.

Glen S. Fukushima is Vice Chair of Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) and Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress. He has extensive experience with U.S.-Asia relations and business leadership in Japan. He has also held top public service roles in the U.S.

Sakie Tachibana-Fukushima, President of G&S Global Advisors, is a global leader in human capital and corporate governance. Formerly head of Korn/Ferry Japan, she has served on 13 major Japanese corporate boards and highly regarded government advisory committees.

Glen S. Fukushima and Sakie Tachibana-Fukushima gave an acceptance speech and participated in a fireside chat with US-ATMC Director Dr. Richard Dasher who moderated the session. Dr. Dasher and the Fukushimas discussed the development of Japan’s business environment and culture over the last several decades. They touched on the end of the lifetime employment system, the increased role of women in business, executive compensation, and many other topics that have impact how Japanese companies do business domestically and internationally.

Congratulations to the Fukushimas for this well-deserved award!
