Takuro Hoshi (Mizuguchi)

Takuro Hoshi (Mizuguchi) is a visiting scholar at the US-Asia Technology Management Center for 2023-2024 where he is researching Generative AI technology.

Since joining JR East Information Systems Company, he has been in the System Development Department for the past 10 years, entrusted with pivotal roles in the development, operation, and network design of railway systems.

He was seconded to NRI IT Solutions America, based in the Palo Alto Bay Area, where he held the position of researcher in cutting-edge technology for 2018-2019. His responsibilities included an in-depth analysis of technological trends in the industry, reporting significant findings to Japan Railways Group. Additionally, He played a key role in spearheading a collaborative effort with a Silicon Valley tech startup to execute a proof-of-concept project.

Upon his return to Tokyo, he was appointed as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at JR East Information Systems Company. He is working on the development of anomaly detection models using Deep learning and Generative AI, aiming for efficient maintenance of railway equipment. Additionally, he has expertise in the implementation of deep learning. He has published papers on anomaly detection models for railway and has made contributions and presentations on efficient AI development.
