Yasuaki Watanabe, Ph.D.

Yasuaki Watanabe is a visiting scholar at US-ATMC for 2015-2016. Currently he is a professor at the Graduate School of Economics, Osaka University and also a professor of Business Administration, Kindai University in Japan; he has been at both universities since 2013.  He received his M.B.A. from International University of Japan and Ph.D. in Finance from Tohoku University, Japan, and B.A. from Keio University, Japan.

Watanabe’s main research fields are pension funds, asset allocation, and corporate finance. His research interests include the Japanese pension system and CalPERS pension system. He has developed a new performance ratio in consideration of behavioral finance and his achievement has been adopted at GIPS (Global Investment Performance Standards). He has published his work in academic journals, such as Journal of Performance Measurement and Journal of Current Issues in Finance, Business and Economics.
