Dr. James Caldwell

CEO, E3 Regenesis Solutions

Dr. James Caldwell is President of E3 Regenesis Solutions. which specializes in organizational transformation, collaborative, renewable energy alliances and systems integration. Member of the California Biomass Collaborative, Sustainable San Mateo County. Vice President, Energy Recovery at Secured Environment. Member, Energy Voyager Corporation’s International Knowledge Trust, a Director of the 1990 Institute and a Director of the U.S. China Green Energy Council. Dr. Caldwell taught university courses on U.S. and international politics, the Politics of Energy and the Environment, Comparative Politics and World History at The University of Texas at Austin, SUNY Binghamton and Iona College, NY. Also taught the rise and fall of civilizations and co-edited a book “Aisles of Time” that traced the development through history of political, economic religious and legal systems. Worked in Asia for several years as a Professor and a businessman in Clean Energy, Energy Policy, Renewable Energy Policy. Post-doctoral Fellow at the U.C. Berkeley Institute of East Asian Studies. Assistant Director of the Center for East Asian Studies at Stanford University. Founded Pacific Rim Connections, Inc., a multilingual technology integration company. First Editor of the Unicode Standard (ISO10646) for multilingual electronic communications: practices the art of alliance management as we solve problems among engineers from different cultures. VP for Multilingual Technology at Ion Global – US, which has integrated internet companies around the world.

Yang Ming Li

Sr IT Expert, China National Petroleum Company

Yangming Li is a global affiliate visiting fellow at the Watler H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (Shorenstein APARC) for 2018-19.  Li has over 30 years of experience in the IT domain.  Most recently, he was the President of Beijing Richfit Information Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation.  He oversaw 3,000 employees and was responsible for developing and implementing a market-focused, platform-based and internationalize business strategy.  He earned his bachelors degree in mathematics from Xiamen University and his MBA from Tsinghua University.

Dr. Oliver Yu

Founder & CEO, STARS Group

Dr. Oliver Yu,  Founder & CEO of the STARS Group, a premier strategy consulting firm, is an internationally recognized expert on technology and resource strategy planning and analysis.  Prior to founding the STARS Group in 2000, he was for 11 years the Director of Energy and Technology Strategies at SRI International, managing numerous large projects on technology and resource strategies throughout the world, and serving as a senior advisor to the Vice Chairman of Commonwealth Edison in Chicago, the Chairman of Taiwan Power Company, the Energy Minister of China, and the President of Philippines.  Before joining SRI in 1989, Dr. Yu was for 15 years the Manager of Planning Analysis at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), responsible for energy industry analysis and EPRI-wide technology research planning.  Dr. Yu holds a BSEE from National Taiwan University, an MSEE from Georgia Tech, and an MS in statistics and a PhD in Operations Research from Stanford University.

Wenli Yu

CEO, Archimedes Controls Group

Wenli Yu, a serial entrepreneur and seasoned business executive of technology companies. Prior to co-founding Archimedes, Wenli served as General Manager and Legal Representative of JDSU, a global optical communications market leader responsible for its WOFE operations in China and strategic business expansion in Asia. He also built the company’s Broadband Network R&D Center in Shenzhen. Wenli has over 30 years of experiences in business development, building customer bases and distribution channels, R&D and manufacturing partnerships in North America, Asia and Europe for carrier and enterprise market as well as data centers. Before joining JDSU, Wenli founded and co-founded multiple technology companies backed by Silicon Valley and Mid-Atlantic based venture capitals and acquired by publicly traded companies (Lucent, Vina, PMC-Sierra ). Over the decades of his business career, he worked as Product Line Manager, Hardware Manager and was instrumental in developing, managing and winning market leadership positions for several brand-name communications products in the global communications markets. Wenli received his MS and BS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland. He is a Limited Partner (LP) and advisor of technology venture investment funds and Coach/Advisor of start-ups, entrepreneur and business associations and start-up accelerators. He also holds a number of U.S. patents in the area of optical technology.
